Thomas E. Russell

Thomas E. Russell, the son of Joseph and Mary (Miller) Russell, was born April 14, 1937, at Orleans, Nebraska. He departed this life on March 16, 2024, at Arbor Care Center in Franklin, Nebraska at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 2 days.

Russell completed his formal education at the Phillipsburg, Kansas high school, graduating with the class of 1954. He was united in marriage with Claudette Smith on June 20, 1954 at Perryton, Texas. For over sixty years, they made their home and raised their family on the farm north of Riverton where he farmed and trucked both grain and cattle.

Russell was a member of the NRA and in his leisure time he enjoyed hunting. Preceding him in death were his parents; a grandson, Danny; and a number of siblings.

Surviving are his wife, Claudette; children, Janet Billings of Kincaid, Kansas; Jack Russell of Maywood, Nebraska; Tom Russell of Trumbull, Nebraska and John Russell of Beulah, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; other relatives an friends.

No services are planned and memorials are suggested to the new Riverton Fire Hall or the Riverton Cemetery.
